999.9 (Four Nines) is a Japanese eyewear brand founded in 1995. The brand name derives from the number engraved on pure gold ingots: 999.9. In its original meaning, it indicates that “the gold has a purity of at least 999.9 parts per 1,000” — a mark of the highest-quality pure gold. In its craftsmanship, Four Nines pursues the possibility within that remaining 0.1 and strives for the highest level of quality. The name embodies the brand’s philosophy of continuously making efforts to come ever closer to perfection — to 1,000 — day after day. This commitment is reflected in everything that Four Nines creates.

Product details

  • The seamlessly formed sheet-metal brow bar and the rear bridge—anchored to the plastic rim at two points on each side—support the front and prevent reverse warping. These precisely integrated metal parts deliver exceptional durability to the mixed-material front.

  • Cut from 8mm-thick plastic sheets, the rims are meticulously shaped and polished. This detailed finishing reveals the rich depth of the material within a bold, substantial profile.

  • Functional components built into the front end-pieces work with flexible temples to absorb stress when putting on and taking off the frame. At the same time, they maintain a comfortable wrap-around fit for the head.
